How Do I Know If I Need a Business Coach?

What is Business Coaching?
Business coaching is the practice of providing support and occasional advice to an individual or group in order to help them recognize ways in which they can improve the effectiveness of their business. Business coaches work to improve leadership, employee accountability, teamwork, sales, communication, goal setting, strategic planning and more. It can be provided in a number of ways, including one-on-one coaching, group coaching sessions and large scale seminars.
How Do I Know if Business Coaching Is Right for Me?
If you want to improve any aspect of your life or business, you are a candidate for coaching. Coaching is a developmental approach within which one person wishing to improve his or her skills, elects to be assisted by another person. The concept of learning by working with someone else has been explored in the world of sport, education and psychology, although this is also how architects, sculptors, and stonemasons who built cathedrals during the Middle Ages, learned their trades. Many trades and professions still use this formula today therefore it appears logical to think that coaching could be used to help entrepreneurs to master their new venture.
Do You Only Work With Established Companies?
At Qalisa we mainly focus on entrepreneurs who want to make a success of their start-up venture, but we also coach senior executives or middle management in corporate companies.
Do You Offer Ongoing Consulting Services?
Coaching is never a once-off intervention. Maybe training or skills development can be a once-off, but at Qalisa we prefer to build long-term relationships and coach a person or company until they have reached their goals. We also prefer to make contact on a weekly basis, because that keeps one focused and it provides an opportunity to vent, to test or brainstorm ideas, and to make quick changes to plans which need some adaption.
Do You Invest In Startup Companies?
Qalisa is not a funding company, although we help start-ups in two ways to get possible access to funding. We prepare a business plan to be presented at financial institutions for funding; or, we try to raise start-up funding through social or group funding methods.

Business Coach

Flip graduated with a Doctorate in Business Leadership focussed on Business Coaching. He attended and lectured at international conferences in New Orleans, Dallas, San Francisco, Brazil and Dubai.

He is very analytical, theoretical and an academic holding a research associate at the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute for Business Science. He also supervises MBA students at GIBS, Southern Business School and Regenesys.
He looks from different perspectives at your business and makes valuable contributions that can create a competitive advantage and sustainability for start-up entrepreneurs.

His philosophy is not to only sell his services but to enter into a long-term partnership and relationship with his clients, because the success of his client’s venture, is his biggest reward!
